No its not a joke some people are actually petitioning for The Joker to be retired from cinema history. For another actor to play The Joker after Ledgers performance would be a sin.

Number 1 have these people seen the performance - you'll know my standing on it from a previous post
Number 2 would they have given a shit if he hadnt of died.

His performance was ok, but to say it was the best thing ever and to have them try and get The Joker to never be portrayed again is just fucking stupid. Some people just need a fucking life.

So went to see 'the Dark Knight' yesterday and its one of those films that falls into the same category as 'Transformers' and 'Casino Royale'. It would of been an ok film if it had been something else. As I love my comics, and can not fault the classic Tim Burton films, this had a lot to live up to. I let 'Batman Begins' off because it was a set up film so it can be forgiven. This how ever was just 2 and a half hours of why and grumbling under my breath, and yes unlike what the critics have said you do notice it is a 2 and a half hour film. Its not a bad film, unlike two of its predecessors, but half way through it felt like I was suppose to be watching 'Spiderman' not 'Batman. Two many aerial shots of the city and big skyscrapers. Talking of the city its suppose to be Gotham not Chicago. Where were the dark creepy alleys and rooftops, where were the gargoyles. The problem is they are trying to make it too realistic, and Batman felt out of place in daylight in a normal city. Lets move to the cast.
Christian Bale - Bruce Wayne/Batman : There is no doubt that he plays a good Batman, but why did he need such a deep gruff distored voice as the Bat. It felt very out of place in some scenes. As his counter part Bruce Wayne, he felt awkward and just spoke through his lines with no effort.
Heath Ledger - The Joker : I think the critics are being so nice about him because he died. I'm not saying that in a nasty way, but I feel if he was alive he would of been getting different reviews said about him. He looked fantastic, but if you were to take away the suit and make up, he could of been any criminal. I think it lacked dancing. When Jack Nicholson enters the art gallery, he's dancing and laughing and then when Batman rescues Vicky Vale, he turns angry. When he is gassing Gotham, he is dancing on his float laughing hysterically, when Batman shows up and takes away the balloons, that's when he shows the psychotic angry side to him. Health just played the Joker straight throughout. There should of been more dancing and more hysterically laughing.
Aaron Eckhart - Harvey Dent/Two Face : Was spot on bar one anal point. When two face flips a coin he goes by that decision, its all to do with fate and chance. That's what he goes by. He doesn't keep flipping the coin until the outcome goes in his favour. So why did he do it in one scene in the film? Yes I said it was an anal point deal with it. Apart from that he was the best character in the film.
Cillian Murphy - Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow : What was the point of you in this film?!?
The Tumbler/Batmobile - it gets blown up *does happy dance* highlight of the film, the cinema cheered and one guy shouted that's what you get for being shit. Hopefully if they do another film they can make it look a bit better. Nothing will ever beat this Batmobile but there are much better designs they could of used.

I think this film was mainly ruined due to all the hype its getting. It was just a mediocre film with nothing special attached to it. My advice for the next one change Director or get him to read some comics.

That's what I thought but I'm sure you'll have your own opinions which we can discuss.

After watching all of the E3 conferences, I'm glad Sony put on a better display than the fateful '06' show. In fact out of all three Sony's was the better of them. Nintendo's was just embarrassing to watch, and Microsoft didn't show anything new. Majority of it was multi platform games. Oh wait they did show off the new dashboard which looks pretty swish. Although the Mii avatars just look dreadful. Most looking forward to Resistance 2 and Little Big Planet which I can tell is going to steal the majority of my life, when its launched.

For your amusement Nintendo's conference in brief, can't wait for my wii-flute :o(

Christian Bale is John Conner. Me and Nath were talking about a new terminator film, saying it would be awesome to have Robert Patrick back as the t-1000 only turned good. As we were on about who could take over from Arnie and came to the conclusion this is the best way around it. Then today I see the trailer for it and Christian Bale as John Conner just wow. Was not expecting that.

Saw an advanced screening of wanted yesterday (trailer below) and it was beautiful.

It hasn't been getting great reviews, so I went with the mind set lots of stupid gunplay with not much story. But hey i'm a bloke thats what i like :o).
From the opening sequence, where a guy jumps from one skyscraper to another whilst taking out 5 assassins in one swoop, I sat in the cinema with a massive smile on my face.
It has over the top gun fights, with some very nice slowmo set pieces, (In one James Mcavoy shots someone whilst flipping his car and he says im sorry all in slomo. I laughed my ass off when he said iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm soooooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrry in slowmo as he shot the guy.) It also has a good story and plot twist. Nothing to major and i'm sure you'll all guess it like I when when your watching it, but it was just all round fun. The end fight where he takes out at leats 40 people in a factory is just heaven. I know kyu_diary will love it. In one instance he kicks a gun out of a guys hand jumps in the air catches it and as he is landing shots a guy in the eye. You might think it stops there. He then continues to take down 5 guys whilst the gun is still in (well call him dave) daves eye. The girl in front of me was about to be sick, and i got strange looks as i clapped and cheered him shouting 'go on son you show them who's boss'. He def shows them who is boss :o)

Everyone will enjoy this film, as long as you don't expect to find out the meaning of life from it, and see it for what it is, stupid with over the top slomo gunfights.

This is the winner of america's next model. Everyone is raving because she is a plus size model and its a first for a big girl to win a model program. When I heard this i thought oh good for a big girl winning. Then I saw her photo ....... wtf big girl? a plus size model? No wonder girls are getting soooooo thin and thinking they are fat when they say that she is a big plus size model.

So I am stuck at work until 10pm tonight. This is due to our alarms playing up. They were working intermitantly but you had to spend 10 mins arming them. A guy came to have a look at it this morning. This guy is the same guy that fits our lightbulbs. So I asked him why he was here and he was like oh they sent me to see if i can fix it if not they'll need to get the proper people out.So he messes around with the security panal and now our alarms are completely fucked. He has ruined the entire network. Phoned the people at 10 oclock this morning they are sending an engineer and security guard out and they will be here at 10pm. Why didn't they just send a proper guy out in the first place instead of the light boy. Not a happy bunny. At least ive got internet and petty cash to get a pizza. But thats not the point! fucking Light monkeys should stick to what they know.

I think only lost_in_moose will find this amusing/ have something to say on the matter. The high editor of gamespot (a website which reviews games) Jeff Gerstmann was fired for giving an honest opinion on a game. He gave a bad video review of Kane_And_Lynch which can be seen here. Now the reason for the firing is apparently Edios the publishers of the game had signed a massive advertising deal with gamespot, and after seeing their game get bashed have pulled all ties with the company. While this is obviously going to be a major cash blow should he have been fired? All he did was give his honest opinion on the game. This asks the questions do all advertised games on gamespot get great reviews. The answer yes Halo 3 - 9.5, Assassins creed - 9.0, Mass effect - 8.5 all these games were advertised highly all over the website when they were due to launch. So how can we trust a Gamespot review ever again. I think it is sad when a guy who gets paid to give honest opinions about games gets fired when a big company doesn;t like what he has to say about it. I'm not going to be using Gamespot for a while because after this none of their employees are going to have the balls to write an honest review in fear of losing their jobs.

So just been to see the third instalment in the Resident Evil series and just simply. . . why do you like raping the things I love :(.

It was an hour an a half of nothingness. No story, no fantastic action and it just seemed to plod along didn't seem to flow at all.
So lets have a look at the characters.
It had some returning characters from number two with however the absence of Jill Valentine. Who in my opinion was great and very close to the game character. She has been replaced by Claire Redfield (female lead in Resi 2). But why was she in this film?!? The film could of easily have done without her. She didn't do much and was just pointless. It was just another 'oh lets throw in a name to keep the fans happy. Just like Carlos Oliveira. Great in the Resi 2 film but seemed bored in this one,and had no real point except to die. Also lets throw in Albert Wesker, who in the games, is the main antagonist, but what does he do in this film ...... sits behind a desk and has three lines.

On a plus there were some nice set pieces and Milla Jovovich naked is always a plus. But it kept reminding me of Casino Royale. This would be ok as a zombie flick, but with Resident Evil attached to it, it just doesn't live up to it.

If you want to make films from games then at least have the decency to play the games, and understand what the fans want. Don't just use it as a quick way to rape people from their money.

So you know I love my comic book hero's. I also love Robert Downey Jr Films. Whats that throw the two together.

This has had me excited since I knew it was getting made a year ago. I just hope (and judging by the trailer they have) they have got this one right.
